Rebecca attended the University of Buffalo, where she obtained a B.S. in Physical Therapy Summa Cum Laude, and was the Valedictorian of her physical therapy class in 1996. She has also performed graduate course work in Exercise Physiology and American College of Sports Medicine Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. While studying in Alabama, Rebecca treated a broad spectrum of orthopedic and sports medicine patients, at the Alabama Sports Medicine Facility which is associated with the American Sports Medicine Institute. Rebecca obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Institute of Health Professionals in 2006.
Rebecca has extensive training and years of experience utilizing manual therapy techniques such as, Mulligan, Muscle Energy, Strain and Counter-Strain, McConnell and Myofascial Release. To achieve optimal patient outcomes, Rebecca combines her strong academic experience with her years of continuing education, and integrates traditional physical therapy exercise with more cutting edge techniques. She has a particular interest in biomechanical assessment and treatment of the lower extremities, pelvis, rib cage and spine. She has over 15 years of experience in casting custom orthotics for patients. Prior to coming to OA, Rebecca was the owner and manager of a successful physical therapy clinic for over 7 years. She sold her clinic in order to spend time at home with her new son, Jackson.
