Sports Medicine Fellow
Ria grew up in New York City. She completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at Smith College in Northampton, MA. In her final year at Smith, Ria decided she wanted to pursue a career in medicine. She went to medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. During medical school, she became interested in Sports Medicine. Ria completed her family medicine residency at the Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency in Portland, ME. During residency, Ria helped to increase resident education around osteopathic manipulation. After completing residency, Ria was selected for the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship in conjunction with MMC and OA Centers for Orthopaedics. When not at work, Ria enjoys running, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing. She has a husband, Ross, who is an Internal Medicine physician, and a son, Desmond, who enjoys eating and playing.
