Despite the diversity of Spectrum divisions, there are a number of shared core values that are consistent across all. Providing patient-centered care is chief among them. Spectrum physicians share key philosophies of patient-centeredness:
Supplying patients with the knowledge and decision-making tools that will help them make the most informed decision about their care.
Providing enhanced coordination of care across multiple specialties.
Increasing access to quality healthcare.
Providing patient-centered care is not just about reacting to injuries or sickness. It is also about providing opportunities for people to improve their health and wellbeing, become more fit, manage their weight, and succeed in recreation and sports. Spectrum provides a number of resources for that diverse community.
OA Centers for Orthopaedics (a member of our Orthopaedic Division) owns four facilities that offer physical and occupational therapy. They also operate the OA Sports Center in Saco, Maine, which includes OA’s Performance Center, a state-of-the-art performance training center for athletes with a wide range of skill levels.
The OA Performance Center offers all athletes an opportunity to train under the supervision and guidance of an integrated, onsite team of performance coaches, physical/occupational therapists, massage therapists, sports medicine providers, and subspecialty orthopaedic physicians. The focus of this comprehensive center is about delivering care and expertise to meet each individual’s need.
The wide range of specialties unified under the Spectrum umbrella helps ensure enhanced coordination of patient care through better alignment and improved communication. For example:
Cancer Treatments - Physicians in our Radiation Oncology, Radiology, and Pathology, Divisions are advocates for improving patient care through collaboration.
